Temp Showroom for WEA..

10 Jul, Thursday..

Today my house became a showroom..

First, Apple, another ID from WEA brought her customer to view our unit.. she ever brought other customer before.. but i wasnt ard then.. they commented that the unit very nice.. hee..

Then in the evening Thomas, another ID from WEA also brought his customer to view our place.. nice..

Nothing much done.. only one guy came to measure the kitchen glass backing..

Carpenter also came to measure glass for TV console..

I finally thought of an idea to solve the TV plug thing.. decided not to fit thru the metal rod.. but to drill a hole for the wire to fit in lor.. although the wire may be exposed then.. but the distance is not alot.. cos my TV will be placed quite low.. moreover, i'll have a centre speaker to blaock the wire.. hee.. Anyway its only one TV wire.. the rest of the audio/video and SCV wires are all inside the metal rod..

That marks the spot..

and our platform table is more stable with these additional wood..

Just as i was about to leave.. this uncle came to install the door.. Our door too big for the door frame.. so no choice but to saw off the excess..

09 Jul Wednesday..

Morning only Ah soon came to finish up his running of wires and cables..

I told him to shift the switch from the right to the left.. cos there's a spot light there, just in case i need to place some art paintings or photos there..

Dining Light also up..

Cant switch on cos the carpenters havent cut a hole at the feature wall for the switches.. so no switch, no lights..

Kitchen switch is done.. and this is how it looks like for my cabinet base with bottom lights..
Another view.. Notice there is a hole at the wall tiles.. its where my existing switch is.. but i removed it cos my stove is there.. but it'll be covered with black glass..

I told Ah Soon about cutting the TV plug and refixing it.. but he say no guarantee wan.. so i chose not to take the risk.. dun cut first lor.. i'll think of another better solution.. becos i also feel it is not practical to cut and re-fix.. what if i change TV in future.. does that mean i have to always cut every wire just to fit thru the rod?

He left once he's done.. only left the living room switches.. once carpenters cut the hole..

Just when i was still thinking of a better way to run the casing for the TV console, the carpenters came.. Dennis came with them.. he explained what i wanted.. then left le.. at first 2 new carpenters came.. then 2 more carpenters, the 2 who did all our carpentry came.. wow.. so many carpenters.. they all split their work..

The platform tables being secured with metal brackets.. but i find that it looks ugly.. cos suddenly metal is involved.. so i told the boss to change it to wood.. Installing the mirror at the shoe cabinet..
Drilling another hole at the base of the console for the wires..
The groove being cut for every drawer for easy lifting up or pulling out..

Told Dennis i wanted black glass.. the frosted glass still came and i request to change..

Wow.. so much have been done for the carpentry.. nothing much left only for the TV console glass.. and some minor touch up.. Fio came up late after her work.. they all stayed till quite late.. ard 7pm plus.. luckily Fio bought dinner for them..

When they left.. we did some area cleaning..

Finally.. 90% done up le..

By right Dennis say can be done by this week.. but i dun think so.. Hope by this month end lor..

Anyway.. Monday nothing much.. the electrician, Ah Soon came to finish up some electrical works.. got one Banglah assist him.. seems blur blur.. He wasnt free last week so he carry on from where his frend end.. He came early and left before lunch le..

08 Jul, Tuesday
Ok.. today first time i saw so many workers from different areas in my house..
First.. Morning, the Banglah came to do the drilling works for my dining light and MBR switch..

The banglah power man.. no googles still can tahan.. i stand behind the kitchen glass door also squinting my eyes le..

Ah soon came and mend the holes with the wires well hidden..
And the switches are done for our MBR.. Cove lighting and downlights..

So many lights in one room.. hee

Then came the carpentry.. But they only did the minimal.. cos some miscomm with their side.. forget to bring this and that..
Still, they did some things today..

Notice any difference? The left wooden beam is cut shorter and placed at the corner of the TV console instead of touching the ground..

Then my MBR platform storage has 6 "doors", cos at first the 2 doors too heavy le.. Told Dennis that the doors too heavy very hard to lift.. so ask him to split into smaller portions..

My bathroom accessories also came.. no lar.. actually bought last thursday.. from Hoe Kee.. hee.. got a little discount cos my buddy is the CEO's son..

Also the guys came to install all the bathroom accessories.. include kitchen tap..

But no pics for toilet cos forgot to take.. too engross with the carpentry works.. especially my TV console.. will update in future posts.. hee

By evening, one by one left.. bathroom done.. electrician will cont tmr.. then carpentry not much could be done.. cos they seem to have forgot to bring a few stuffs.. i heard one of the carpenters scolding another carpenter say this also forget to bring that also forget.. hmm..

Another headache is how to run the wires for the TV console.. the carpenter, electrician and me were thinking of the best way to run the wires.. Cos when the platform was up, Dennis did not ensure where the wires should be run.. now no choice but to expose the wire casing..

The casing would have to be exposed on the platform.. Dennis say will paint the same colour as the platform lor..

Then also the metal swivel rod may seem big but the hole inside is too small to fit the TV plug.. after discussion with the carpenter and his boss.. we got no choice but to cut the plug head and fit thru the metal rod hole and then fix back the plug head.. (of cos this would be done by the electrician..) But this is the only way to fit the rod inside the pole.. At the meantime still thinking of other alternatives..

By the way my Dad came over to visit also.. Dennis came in the evening to see see.. but when he came, all the workers had left.. but we still did soem discussion.. and i told him abt the TV console etc.. he's also arranging for the door and air-con and everything outstanding.. by next week should be done..

At this time the guy who did the false ceiling at the beginning of the reno came to patch up some holes.. he funny fellow..
